Sixth Form Pen Award!
At the end of last term, Mr Elmes was delighted to present the Sixth Form Pen Award. Huge congratulations to Oliver Lewis (Year 12) and Martha Robinson (Year 13)!

Pegasus – Degree Apprenticeships
At the beginning of this term we were pleased to welcome representatives from Pegasus (Development Consultancy) who spoke to some of our students about degree apprenticeship opportunities. The company currently offer degree apprenticeships in partnership with a number of universities including Sheffield and Gloucestershire.
PJ Day 2025
This year all proceeds from our PJ Day went to the Anthony Nolan Trust, thank you to all the staff and students who donated to this fantastic cause!



A trip to the palace!
Year 13 student Phoebe enjoyed a day at Buckingham Palace to collect her Gold Duke of Edinburgh award. As you can see from the photo the weather was very kind and she had a fantastic time enjoying the palace gardens in the sunshine. Huge congratulations to Phoebe on this fantastic achievement!
Staff vs Students 2025!
Once again staff and students limbered up ready for the staff vs students football and rounders matches 2025! A good time was had by all and overall the staff came out victorious in the rounders (21-11)!



A Helping Hand From Hilda Terry
Year 13 student Millie Croxson was delighted to accept her Hilda Terry Award this term. Mr Elmes (on behalf of the trustees) presented Millie with her cheque; she is using the money from her Hilda Terry Award towards her trip to Japan where she will be teaching English to children. She had applied to the school trustees who can choose to give the award to suitable candidates; the trustees generously support a number of post-16 students each year, enabling groups and individuals to gain a whole range of life experiences.
Year 13 Nostalgia Day
Year 13 stepped back in time and celebrated their ‘Nostalgia Day’. Dressed in their old uniforms they enjoyed a day of reminiscing with fellow students and staff.
Top of the class!
It is not about the A*s in History, it is who wins the Smartest Historian 2025 quiz! The quiz covers questions from Year 7 to Year 13 History. Congratulations to all the winners!
Year 13’s Final Day
On May 9th we bid farewell to our Year 13’s; ‘Dressed to Impress’ the day included signing of Yearbooks, a final assembly of memories, photos, awards and superb student performances, as well as a BBQ.
Pass Plus Launch
This term we were delighted to launch our Safer Driving Scheme with our Year 12 students. In partnership with the Chipping Campden Community Trust we will be able to offer 10 students (in the first instance) the opportunity to access a fully funded place on a Pass Plus Advanced Driving course. As part of the launch event, representatives from Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue, Gloucestershire Constabulary and the Chipping Campden Community Trust all presented to our students outlining the importance of safe driving and the benefits of the Pass Plus course.
Head Prefect Team 2025-26
After a student and staff vote, we were delighted to award the positions of Head Prefects to Hannah Keyte and Seb Makaritis, and Deputy Head Prefects to Harry Geldard and Holly Puddy. With the help of the other senior prefects the team have a busy year ahead organising charity events, representing the school and helping out at school events such as our Sixth Form Open Evening. We know that they will work hard and make us and the school proud.

HE & Apprenticeship Day
On the 9th June, it was the Year 12 Higher Education & Apprenticeship Day. Representatives from the University of South Wales, Oxford Brookes University, University of Gloucestershire, Lancaster University and Workpays (Apprenticeships) delivered sessions covering a range of topics including ‘How to choose the right course’, ‘Personal Statements’, ‘The Application Process’ and ‘Apprenticeship Opportunities’.



Warwick University – Year 12 History Trip
In June our Year 12 A-Level History students had the opportunity to visit the University of Warwick Library, as part of the coursework element of their course. The students were asked to read and evaluate the views of different historians in relation to a historical debate. They all had a wonderfully productive day at an inspirational venue.
Tuesday Talk – Lessons From Auschwitz
On the 10th June four of our Year 12 students delivered their own ‘Tuesday Talk’ session on ‘Lessons From Auschwitz’ to pupils from Year 9 and upwards. We were incredibly proud of how well all four of them presented to their audience, as well as, how they handled the numerous questions that followed. We would like to extend a huge well done to Ollie, Leila, Georgia and Harry.



Sixth Form Induction Days
We were delighted to welcome all our Sixth Form Applicants for their Induction Days this term. During their time with us they were able to meet their fellow applicants, attend taster A Level lessons, chat to staff, and get a feel of what life will be like as part of our Sixth Form. We look forward to seeing them again on Results Day in August.



Cardiff Met University Trip
Mrs Hayward and Mr Banwell took a trip to Cardiff Met University with 14 of our Year 12 students . They were able to experience a ‘Taster Day’ which included a lecture on student finance, a scavenger hunt around the campus, a Q & A with student ambassadors from the university, as well as, a chance to explore the local amenities.
Duke of Edinburgh – Going for Gold!
Sixth Form students are currently undertaking their Gold D of E assessed expedition in the Isle of Skye; after arriving at the weekend they set off on Monday morning (14th). We wish them lots of luck for the remainder of the expedition!

Year 13 Dinner Dance
On Thursday 3rd July Year 13 students and members of staff gathered at The Crowne Plaza Hotel for the Leavers Dinner Dance 2025. The sun shone and a fantastic night was had by all which included a three course meal and disco. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Dinner Dance Committee who helped to organise the decorations for the room and tables. The evening was the perfect way to commemorate their time at CCS. Good luck Year 13!
