Welcome from our Principal and Head of Sixth Form

Mr Gareth Burton

Principal

“I am delighted to welcome you to Chipping Campden School. As Principal, it is my privilege to lead the school and I extend a very warm welcome to students, parents, and our friends in the local community and beyond.

Our school is indeed a very special place – unlike any other. The culture and ethos that has been grown since the school’s formation in 1440, enables students to feel empowered in their learning and inspired to excel. Students are encouraged to pursue ambitious goals, both in terms of their academic studies, but also in their wider interests. Our committed team of adults make it their business to encourage our students to be curious about the world they live in and to consider how they can contribute to shaping their future society; locally and globally.”

Mr Rob Elmes

Head of Sixth Form

“Choosing the right Sixth Form is one of the most important decisions you will ever make and here at Chipping Campden School you will find a vibrant, supportive, and purposeful environment. The Sixth Form Centre is equipped with unrivalled facilities, including a university style Sixth Form Refectory, a super-curricular library for students applying for the most competitive courses, and state of the art study room.

Our students thrive here, both in terms of exam results and being prepared for their next steps. We place much importance on instilling a strong work ethic in our students, developing a strong moral compass, being respectful, kind and considerate to others and being resilient in the face of challenges; all qualities which we believe will serve our students well in life beyond Chipping Campden School.”

Post 16 Tuition Fund Statement

The 16 to 19 tuition fund was first provided by the Government for the 2020 to 2021 academic year and is being extended beyond 2021 to 2022 for a further two years into the 2023 to 2024 academic year. The fund provides additional funding for schools, colleges and other 16 to 19 providers to help with the disruption to learning caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). The funding is being provided to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted. Although the actual tuition does not need to be for GCSE English or Maths, the students supported all need to be those who had not achieved grade 5 or above in at least one of those subjects at this level by age 16.  At Chipping Campden School this small grant was used to help with catch up for those students without a GCSE grade 4 or those who had a GCSE 4 and needed support in English or Maths by additional 1:1 help from teachers or tutors from the NTP network in preparing for the examinations in Summer 2023.
